Q: What is Contribute 2009?
A: Scentsy contributed $100,000 to 40 small businesses in its home community to celebrate its Fifth Anniversary. Many Scentsy consultants expressed an interest in contributing further. Contribute 2009 was designed to give Scentsy consultants that opportunity but then was expanded to include everyone who wanted to participate. We hope Contribute 2009 will grow, expand and spread across the country because true contribution is not tied to what you receive.
Our goal is to inspire 100,000 people to pledge to spend an extra $50 at locally owned small businesses on October 12, 2009. That’s a $5 million economic infusion that can create a ripple effect in communities across the nation. That’s big help for small business.
Q: How do I pledge?
A: Go to www.scentsycontribute.org and click on the Consultant Pledge or Public Pledge tab. Pledge to spend $50 at a small business in your local community. You can buy a Contribute 2009 T-shirt for only $9 to wear when you shop on October 12 or another day that week. We also encourage you to spread the word.
Q: What am I pledging?
A: You are pledging to spend an extra $50 at a small business in your community on October 12, 2009 or another day that week. By doing so, you will be part of a collective contribution to small businesses and the surrounding communities.
Q: What is the difference between the Consultant Pledge and the Public Pledge?
A: As a Scentsy Independent Consultant, we are asking you pledge to spend an extra $50 to help small businesses, and to recruit four people to do the same. By doing so, you will receive a free Scentsy 5th Anniversary T-shirt.
For everyone else, we are asking you to pledge to spend an extra $50 at a small business in your local community. Although we encourage you to involve your family and friends in this event, it is not required when you pledge.
Q: Where do I buy the Contribute 2009 shirt?
A: Go to www.scentsycontribute.org and pledge to spend $50 in your local community. After you click SUBMIT on the pledge, you will be directed to the Contribute 2009 T-shirt ordering page where you can purchase your Contribute 2009 T-shirt by filling in the required shipping and billing information, and providing a credit card number.
Q: When do I get my Contribute 2009 shirt?
A: You will receive your Contribute 2009 T-shirt within the week of October 5, 2009 so you can wear it when you go shopping on October 12 or another day that week.
Q: How do I get a birthday Gift Certificate from Scentsy?
A: To receive a $10 Scentsy Gift Certificate, please provide your email, birth date and gender in the required fields. After the October 12 shopping day, Scentsy will send your birthday Gift Certificate via email. You can use that gift certificate to purchase Scentsy product through a Scentsy independent consultant.
Q: What do I do after I spend my $50 at a small business?
A: After you spend your $50 in your local community, please share your experience with us. At www.scentsycontribute.org, click on the ‘Share your Story’ tab and fill in the necessary information and tell us your story. Feel free to upload a photo you may have of your experience. If you are a Scentsy Consultant, we would also like you to post your story on your workstation. The Share Your Story tab will be open to share your story after October 12, 2009.
